My brothers and sisters,
As we begin another year of The Appeal, I want to reflect back on your generosity during last year’s campaign and the significant difference it made on our campus. Last year you pledged and paid $76,000 over our diocesan goal, allowing us to make vital repairs to our parking lot, sidewalk, and drainage systems.
The diocesan goal set for us this year is $95,907.45. This money is set to support goals centered on Vocations, Catholic Schools, Social Concerns, and Evangelization.
Once again, every dollar collected over the diocesan goal will return to our parish without an assessment. This is an effective way for us to support the diocesan goals while also raising money to support the mission of our church and school. Our enhanced goal this year will be $170,000 and will provide the funds needed to replace the concrete in front of the church. This project includes the sidewalk from the west edge of the rectory to the parking lot entrance, front steps of the church, and wheelchair accessible ramp. Not only does this provide increased accessibility to our church and curb appeal, it also raises the curb that is nearly flush with East Main Street; many years of repaving the street has created a situation in which water from the street now spills over onto our sidewalk.
I invite you to prayerfully consider how you can financially support the goals of our diocese and parish. Your consistent generosity continues to amaze me - and I am grateful for it.
